A battery should be fully discharge from time to time
Myth
Phones ,car and laptop batteries should be completely emptied from time to time to recharge to be effective.
Reality
Reality
FALSE,
this is even destructive to the equipment.
Explanations
The battery type Lithium-ion should not be completely discharged, however causing same to be unusable.
It is not recommended to fully discharge the battery causing 20% loss of its capacity! This is because the batteries are connected to a complex electronic circuit that is constantly fed. Also, a total discharge of the battery leads to a degradation of chemical elements within the battery. This cause a battery (after complete discharge) can be potentially dangerous. This is the main purpose why a circuit could prevent the recharge to avoid any incidents. The consequences are that the battery becomes unusable.
For laptops, Windows XP, just adjust the battery discharge by going to the Control Panel, then Power Options.
If storage over a long period without use, load them between 40 and 60% and store them in a cool place.
