Reactivate the default setting open








In the case that you right click on a folder, you get the the "Search" instead ofOpen.Here below is how to proceed to recover the option Open as default.

First Method

  • Go to menu «Start and select Run.
  • Then type the following command in the open window:
    • Regsvr32 /I shell32.dll

  • Then click on OK.
  • IF it does not work, verify if the spaces are as provided. If you find that it is still not recovered. Apply the second provided method.

Second Method

  • Go to Menu Start and select Run.
  • Type regedit to open the registry by validating on Ok.

  • Then scroll to the value:
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell
  • Right click on SHELL and select Modify
  • Give the value as zero and close the registry.
