Removing the Favorites Links Directory







Whenever you disable the link under Favorite in the Internet Explorer, you will notice same is generated automatically when you restart your computer. ‘

Solutions

Below are two proposed solutions to efficiently remove the favorite links folder.

Hide Links folder


In the first option, the first solution consists of hiding the links folder. You don’t need to configure the registry which however allows you to restore the modification if needed.

Go to Favorites under Internet Explorer and right click on Links folder. Then select Properties.
Check the Hidden attribute on the General tab.
Click on Apply and select OK.
Then restart Internet Explorer.
You can uncheck the hidden files to display the hidden files.



The location and access links is find under :
My Computer / C: / Documents and Settings / Username / Favorites / Links folder.

Permanently delete the Links folder


This second method for removing the file is by changing its value from the registry editor.

Start <Run <Type regedit <OK.
Go to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Internet Explorer \ Toolbar
Double-click on LinksFolderName.
In the "Value data", delete the links.
Click on OK and then close the registry editor.
Delete the links directory in favorites to remove the file completely
