Definition of Rootkit


A root is a malicious program that hides presence of harmful program under users systems and security software. Rootkits are very difficult to detect on your computer as they are invisible and get installed in the computer system. The root detect user administrator to get installed on your computer.

Solution



First method using Gmer



Gmer is a powerful rootkit detector and can remove many Rootkits.

Once the tool download completed, right-click on the set up Gmer.Exe and select Run. This will launch the program and autoscan of your computer system.

Detecting rootkit

Under Gmer, the rootkit detected will turn red on the line displayed almost all having the following extensions:
. dat
. exe
_nav.dat
_navps.dat
