What is hybrid stanby under vista?






Vista possess a new stanby mode : the hybrid standy.
This mode is enabled by default, that is why when you go to start and choose the options above, you have only the option "stanby" and not "extended standby."


What is it?

It is a hybrid mix of the standby and hibernate, in fact when we choose the hybrid mode, Windows saves your session on the disc (hibernation) and left it waiting on the RAM (standby).But why bring the current session on both the hard disk and RAM?Its because if you put the session only on the memory and that we remove power from the PC, everything is lost. So Windows also saves on disk drive, so if a power outage occurs, it will start on the hard disk.
