Delete SP1 uninstall files on Vista






This tip will allow you to save more than 700 Mb on the system partition by removing the backup files created after the installation of SP1. However, after deleting these files uninstall SP1 will be impossible, then it is recommended to ensure that this service pack works
properly on your PC.

Uninstall service pack by using the Programs and Features item in Control Panel


Service pack can be uninstalled from the Control Panel, just follow these steps:
  • Click Start, type Appwiz.cpl in the Start Search box, and then click Appwiz.cpl in thePrograms list.

If you an administrator password is asked, type the password and click Continue.
  • Click View installed updates.
  • Select the Service Pack you wish to uninstall, click Uninstall.
  • Now Follow the instructions to finish the uninstallation.

Uninstall Service Pack using the Command

  • Go to Start> All Programs> Accessories.
  • Right-click on "Command Prompt"> Run as administrator.
  • Type in Vsp1cln the command prompt, and click OK.


  • Press the y button to start the deletion.
  • Close the command prompt once the removal process is complete.
