Re-encoding a Divx file








The DivX format is among the most popular format use for uploading videos.Most DivX file (video) have normally a size graeter than 700 MB.

It is possible to encode a movie with different settings,in order to reduce the total size of the file. Sound quality can be reduced without any severe impact over the video quality.


Steps:
  • Open your DivX movie with VirtualDub.

  • In the Video menu, select Direct Stream Copy, in order to get an identical video track
  • In the Audio menu, select audio and AVI Full processing mode
  • Click on Audio/Compression
  • In the dialog box, select the codec you want to apply.
  • Click on OK
  • In the File menu, choose Save as AVI



Note that: after modifying a file , the result will definitely be of less better quality (video/audio) than the original one.
