Extracting the sound from a video







If you ever want to extract the soundtrack from a video the simplest way is to use VLC player
Link:http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

Once installed:
  • File menu /Open File (advanced)
  • File tab / Browse button to open the file or mpg or avi wmv, which wants to extract the soundtrack
  • Click on Settings
  • Check File + filename = "asd.wav" (put the full path to be sure)
  • Encapsulation method = Wav
  • You can choose optiobns
  • Audio Codec s16l = 128 kbit/s or 192 kbit/sec (= 2 channels for stereo).
  • Double-click on OK to start the extraction of the sound.
  • Note: You can choose other audio codecs VLC
