IPX/SPX protocol under Windows Vista








IPX/SPX: Internetwork Packet Exchange/Sequenced Packet Exchange
The protocol IPX/ SPX allow some old games to play in network (Red Alert, Command & Conquer, etc.)

This function is not supported by vista (32 bit).

Below is a tips of how to use this function under Windows Vista (32 bit):-

Once the file downloaded, extract the contents of the ZIP file in the root C: \) partition of your hard disk.
  • Go to Control Panel and Network and Sharing Center
  • In the left window part, select Manage network connections
  • Double-click on your connection and select Properties
  • Click on Set up and select Protocol
  • Do not select the protocol "NWLink IPX / SPX / NetBIOS Compatible Transport Protocol" should normally be listed in the list of network protocols.
  • Click on "Disk" and scroll to C: \ Windows \ inf
  • Select netnwlnk.inf and press OK.
  • Select the protocol NWLink IPX/SPX/NetBIOS Compatible Transport Protocol
  • Vista indicates that the publisher could not be verified
  • Click on Install
