[Windows XP] Using the scanner without restarting Windows

If you start Windows XP and you turn on your scanner after, normally you will not be able to use it.
It will require that you restart Windows to use your scanner.

To avoid this:

Turn on your scanner.
Make a right-click on My Computer/ Manage.

Select Device Manager

In the right window, select the first element (My computer).

Right-click on the Scan for hardware changes

It should be fine.
