Symptoms

You are unable to connect to WiFi network encrypted in WPA, even though it is listed, and with a very good signal (3 or 4 out of 5).
The connection lasts very long, then fails on an error.

My configuration

Freebox v5 in router and WiFi mode with WPA key
Atheros WiFi card
Windows Vista

Note that this tip may works on other configurations.

Solution

Go to the console for Wireless management of your other Wi-Fi router:
Disable automatic channel
Select channel No. 10.
Choose a WPA key only in alphanumeric (composed of capital letters, lowercase and numbers)

Explanation

It may comes from the fact that the channel used is 11, which is the default channel in all configurations. It is therefore possible that there is interference on this channel is used.
