Displaying video from a PC on a television screen

You can display the output from the computer on a television (or even the sound on an amplifier).
But that implies that the graphics card has a TV output and the TV has an SCART or S-Video entry.

TV output

The output of the graphics card, is usually an S-Video (mini DIN 6-pin), also called S-VHS. But sometimes there is also a RCA output (a yellow, video.
If the graphics card does possess any of these connectors, consider changing your graphics card or invest in additional hardware called VGA Box:

S-Video output

If it is a S-VHS output, a S-Video cable must be used to connect the computer to the S-video TV or in other cases to an adapter S-Video/SCART.

Note:
Usually full S-Video support is not an endemic feature to many graphic cards, causing a black and white display. To solve this problem, simply open the S-Video/SCART adapter and bridge terminals 15 and 20.
RCA output

The same goes when using a RCA output, but usong a RCA cable.

Configuration under Windows

Activate the TV output via the control panel:
Double-click on Display, then choose "Settings" tab.

Click on "Advanced" tab and choose View option.

On Nvidia, the option is present in Start/Panel configuration/NVidia desktop manager /NView

If the TV is connected to the TV output, a TV screen with the designation "connected" or not should appear

Select the Clone Monitor/TV and validate.

Check the presence of a signal from the computer by pressing on the the "AV" of television, until it switches on the TV display.

Restart the computer if no transmission to TV
