Creating your mobile ringtones




Intro


Toneshop is a software that enables you to create your own mobile ringtones under files format instead of buying ringtones.

What you need

  • A reliable computer for creating and saving your ringtones
  • Tools for creating ringtones or ready tones
  • Software for converting sound files to ringtones

Ringtones format


The ringtones format depends on the format used by your mobile:
  • WAV & WMA: windows format compatible with windows mobile.
  • MP3: Format commonly used and recognized by many mobile types.
  • MID or MLD: MLD allows personal records adjustment while *MLID cannot produce sounds included in the original phone.
  • SMAF (.mmf): standard format for polyphonic ringtones
  • MPEG: video format allowing sound extraction (also MPEG-4)

Create your sound files


The easiest way for creating your sound files is to uses windows sound recorder. The sound will be under the format WAV which is compatible with Windows Media Player. If WAV format is not compatible with your mobile file system, you can convert to another file format using a convertor. To access windows sound recorder , go to menu Start > all programs > Accessories > Entertainement> Sound Recorder.

  • Resize the length to limit the ringtones

Transfer to your mobile


The transfer to your mobile depends on the technology of your mobile, Bluetooth / or infrared or through the USB cable that connect your computer to your mobile.

It is highly recommended to zip your ringtones on your computer as it is disk space consuming.
