Individuals using an iPhone for the first time may be unaware that they need to connect it to Linksys. Or if they are aware of this, they may still struggle to connect to the Wi-Fi router. This can be down to using an incorrect password. If this is the case, the user can type the WEP "key 1" numbers. These can be found in the Wireless security settings. To connect an iPhone with a Wi-Fi router it is essential to type 192.168.1.1. Both user name and password are needed in admin to connect. With all this, the user should now be able to go to wireless and connect the device with the Linksys Wi-Fi router.
Unable to connect to my Linksys Wi-Fi router
Hello, I am unable to connect my iphone via my Linksys router
OK I have figured it out.
If you keep getting "incorrect password" using your iPhone when trying to connect to a Linksys (WRT54G) Router, try typing in the WEP "key 1" numbers (not the actual password or passphrase).
They are located in the "wireless security" settings.
- Go to 192.168.1.1
- Enter "admin" for both username and password (actual one NOT "key 1" numbers).
- o to Wireless/Wireless Security and they should be right there.
- If Default Transmit Key "1" is marked use "key 1" numbers, if "2" is marked use "key 2" numbers, etc.
