Install Flash player under Debian

Debian is an open source operating system that uses the Linux kernel.This OS supports a number of plug-ins which can make the user experience better. The flash player plug in can also be installed on Debian based computers which will make viewing of videos, content and applications better.The plug-in can be installed under this OS manually, or the user can add the required repositories which will complete the installation process.

To install the Flash player plugin in Debian, add the repository :

Manual method:


gpg --keyserver hkp://subkeys.pgp.net --recv-keys 16BA136C       
gpg --export | apt-key add -       
  • Then reboot :
    • aptitude update   
  • Install the plugin :
    • aptitude install flashplugin-nonfree
