KDE - Launching Xcreensaver at start up

To start the Xscreensaver at KDE start up, you need to create a small executable file in the Autostart subfolder found in the .Kde hidden directory (located in the home directory of the user).
  • Open the Autostart folder found in the .Kde directory. (Don't forget to allow the display of hidden files and folders).
  • Create a text file and type the following command lines:

[Desktop Entry]
Exec=xscreensaver
Name=xscreensaver
Type=Application
X-KDE-StartupNotify=false
  • Save the file, configure the parameters your screen saver, and the next time you start a new user session, Xscreensaver will be launched automatically.
