IE/Mozilla Firefox - Change saved files location




If your C: partition is full or you want to change the saved files location of your browser for completed downloaded files!

Change location


For Internet Explorer you will need to change the registry:

If you want your Internet Explorer downloads to be saved to the location you wish, then use this tweak to setup a default download directory for Internet Explorer. First create a folder on the E drive
  • Open Registry Editor (regedit.exe).
  • Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer

Then change the location under the string value Download Directory to the location you want your downloads to be stored by default.
Then close the registry editor & Reboot your PC

For Firefox:

Go to:
  • TOOLS
  • OPTIONS - Main in the Firefox page

then DOWNLOADS and modify Save files to
