Internet Explorer uses security certificates to determine if a site is safe to access or not. In case there are Internet Explorer certificate errors, the browser settings may have to be changed. The IE browser may report errors stating that security certificates cannot be validated or have expired. In order to solve the issue of Internet Explorer certificate errors, the option for server certificate revocation has to be unchecked. The settings can be accessed through the advanced settings tab in internet options; this is available from the main menu of Internet Explorer's web browser. The computer may have to be rebooted for the changes to take effect.

Issue

I just got my laptop fixed and now many of the sites that I always go to are saying that there are certificate errors or that the security certificate has expired or is not yet valid, etc... Why is this happening? Is there a setting that can change this?

Solution

Go to Internet Explorer:

• Tools
• Internet Options
• Advanced

Here you will get a list: scroll down and there will be a security header.
Uncheck the box where it's written:
"CHECK FOR SERVER CERTIFICATE REVOCATION"

• Close the browser
