Twitter Find the tweets pointing to a URL

Issue

With its limitation to 140 characters per message, Twitter has democratized the URL-shorteners. There are services such as http://bit.ly/ that create a short URL from a long URL.

However, with the shortened URL, it is impossible to find the URL of your site on Twitter.

Solution

• Fortunately, there is a service (BackTweets.com) to return all tweets pointing to a given URL, even if it was shortened by a URL-shortener:
  • http://backtweets.com/
• Better: This tool even lets you create an email alert whenever a tweet quote your URL (set the frequency):
  • http://backtweets.com/alerts
