Stay anonymous in an HijackThis log
Issue
Your nickname is "xyz" and you ask the result of a virus scan on the forum.
Someone advises you to do with Hijackthis and by doing so, you post the report, but note that your identity will be revealed.
So, to avoid revealing your identity, you can proceed as follows:
- Open the notepad containing your report, then CTRL-H (Window called "find and replace)
- Then search = 1st line write "yourname"
- in the 2nd line that follows "replace" write "a pseudo"!
- Click "Replace All" and in a few microseconds, it's done!
- You save the changes you made and paste your report on the forum and your identity will not be revealed
Note
Do not forget to also delete any filename or directory that may provide personal information, for example:
C:\Documents and Settings\User name\ Photos.
