Issue
When playing an audio file,
Windows Vista
prompt you with one of the following messages:
No audio device
No audio device is installed
No audio output device is installed
No mixer device is available
Solution
This simply means that Windows can not find drivers for your soundcard. To remedy this, simply follow the following procedure:
- Open Device Manager by clicking Start/Run (or Windows key + R) and entering the following command:
devmgmt.msc
- In the window that opens and click on the name of the computer.
- In the Action menu, click Check for hardware changes.
- This will reinstall the drivers for your sound card.
