The OpenOffice.org office suite is written in Java.
That is why it is slow.

Reality

FALSE.

Explanations

OpenOffice.org is written in C ++.

Then completely remove Java (JRE/JVM/JDK) from your computer and run OpenOffice: It works without problems.
