Software as a service (SaaS) are popular among businesses
A survey conducted by Strategy Analytics demonstrates that, among the various cloud computing models available today, software as a hosted service (SaaS) are the most popular among businesses and professionals
The survey was conducted over a sample of 1,750 organizations in the UK, France, Germany, China, India, Brazil and the United States, selected from ten industry sectors and services during the first quarter of 2012.
According to the results thereof, the "software as a service" or SaaS (Software as a Service) dominate investment made companies:
- 64% of organizations surveyed will be making an increasing use of SaaS, which is the most open model of cloud computing.
- 37% opting for the IaaS (Infrastructure as a service) model.
- 22% opting for the Paas (Platform as a service) model.
Among the key feature to the adoption of cloud mentioned in the survey: "The scalability, cost control and administration". Traditional constraints to the migration to the cloud remains the same, namely "the safety, reliability and availability".
