[Amazon Cloud Drive] Clients for Windows and MacOSX

Amazon recenly improved its online storage and file sharing services, Amazon Cloud Drive. There are now two client applications for Windows and Mac OS X operating system from Apple.

The Amazon Cloud Drive new applications for Windows and Mac OS X facilitate the transfer of files (eg photos, videos) in your personal cloud, and prevents at the same time to go through a web browser to do this.

Limitations:
  • Both applications offer features that are however fairly basic: the transfer is done by drag and drop, but it is not possible to automatically synchronize files locally.
  • The second limitation with respect to its direct competitors (eg, Dropbox, Google Drive) is the lack of applications for smartphones and tablets.
  • In addition, if Amazon Cloud Drive allows hosting all types of files, yet it does not support features for collaborative work.

As a reminder, Amazon Cloud Drive service is available for free (limit of 5 GB of storage) and pay: offers ranged from 20 GB ($ 20/year) to 1000 GB ($ 1,000/year).
