[Windows 7] Disable the auto-complete under Windows Explorer


To disable the auto-complete option of Windows Explorer (Search box):
  • Click on Start > Run > Type " regedit"
  • Expand the following key:
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER> Software> Microsoft> Windows> CurrentVersion> Explorer> AutoComplete.
  • In the right pane select the "AutoSuggest" entry and set its value to "No"
  • Validate with the OK button.
  • Close the registry and restart your PC
