MacOS - Force Safari to a open links in a new tab


This simple manipulation will force Safari to open new links in a new tab:
  • Open a terminal and type the following command:
  • defaults write com.apple.Safari TargetedClicksCreateTabs -bool true
  • Note that: To revert the settings to default state, use the command below:
  • defaults write com.apple.Safari TargetedClicksCreateTabs -bool false
