Multiple slowdowns /Lags in a network game

If your gaming experience tends to slow down or even block when playing online, this due to a problem with automatic wireless network in Windows.

Solution

You are advised to connect with a wired Ethernet connection to remove the bottleneck.

If you cannot stop the wifi connection, configure the connection manually as the automatic configuration of XP regularly will search for wireless networks to detect new networks available.

One solution is that you can also install the utility for the WiFi adapter.


The WiFi adapter is usually provided with a driver CD having the utility that can configure wifi. It has proved to be more efficient than the one provided under Windows.

• Disable the automatic configuration
• Open the Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Services
• Search the Wireless Zero Configuration.
• Click the right mouse button and choose Properties
• In the "Startup type" select Manual.
