Real Player software is important to play multimedia files - both video and audio. Real Player works not only on computers but also on mobile devices like smartphones. Sometimes Real Player does not work and fails to appear on web browsers or Youtube and a reinstallation of this software also makes no difference. This is mainly due to a missing add-on in IE. One has to make changes in the status of this plug-in. This, however, will only work if there are no other programs for video downloads in use.

Real player downloader stopped working

Issue

Real Downloader stopped appearing on Chrome, Firefox, Youtube videos etc. I reinstalled the latest Real Player version (14.0.2.633) but still no joy.

Solution

You should enable the Realplayer downloader add-on from Internet Explorer .

• Open your IE
• Tools -> Manage add-ons -> change the status of Realplayer download and Record plug-in for Internet Explorer to "Enable".

Note that

Check that you're not using another default program for video downloads (IDM, Flashget..etc).
