The
'blue screen of death' is perhaps the greatest malaise in the Windows operating system. It indicates a system crash. While most users will wince and reach for the restart button, the
blue screen of death provides vital information relating to the
crash. While the information is not easily decipherable, it is an indication of serious problems in the operating system. The
error code displayed in the message can be used to find out more about the reason for the system crash. Error codes displayed in the
blue screen of death can help fix the issues.
Blue screen of death
When your computer has a serious problem it will do one of the following:
- Restart
- Display a blue screen (stop error) which explains what has caused the problem.
These error messages, although often difficult to decipher, can be essential in finding out what has caused the crash (stop) and then enable you to fix your computer yourself.
Here are some explanations of these codes:
NB The error code is displayed in the blue screen, just after the words 'STOP error'
For example:
"0x0000000A (0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x01C010101, Ox00000000)"
