QuickPar is a utility allowing to create parity volumes using the Reed Solomon algorithm
The volumes of parity, accompanying for example RAR files downloaded on Internet, allow to verify if files are or not corrupted. In case of file corruption, it will be generally possible to reconstruct the archives provided there is a sufficient quantity of parity volumes.
QuickPar uses the PAR specifications version 2.0. For more information about parity volumes : CRC and parity
To verify a set of files is very simple: just double-click on a file .par2, and QuickPar will verify the files. It will indicate you the missing or damaged files and will repair them if it has enough data.
If you have 10 Mb of .par2 files , it means that QuickPar will be capable of reconstituting up to 10 Mb of missing or damaged data on all the files (whatever is the place of the missing or damaged data).
