wmiadap - wmiadap.exe

wmiadap.exe (wmiadap signifiant Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) AutoDiscovery/AutoPurge (ADAP) Service) is a Windows NT/2000/XP generic process used for storing certain libraries in a repository.

The process wmiadap is not in any way a virus, a worm, a Trojan horse, spyware, or adware.

The file that corresponds to this process is normally found in the directory "%SystemRoot%\System32\wbem\wmiadap.exe" (where %systemroot% is usually C:\WINDOWS.)

It is a system process which is necessary for Windows to function properly, and therefore may not be terminated by the Task Manager.
