From: Sender's address (various formats) To: Recipient's address Subject: Subject of message Date: Date message was sent Replyto: Address to reply to MessageID: Initial message identification Received: Miscellaneous information about intermediary sites - Location, date, IP address, name of software Xany: Extensions Message body set apart from the header by a line break (\r\n) contains the message, maximum of 1000 characters in a row, contains only US-ASCII (7 displayable bits)
